I am Arabinrin Aderonke, an award-winning investigative journalist and advocate with over 18 years of experience transforming the media, development, and policy.
My career has been an exciting journey of uncovering truths, driving change, and championing causes that matter.
As the Technical Assistant, Broadcast Media at the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), I harness my passion for media to implement impactful communication strategies. My previous roles, including Special Assistant (Digital Media) to the Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory and Special Adviser to the former Minister of Women Affairs, have been crucial in shaping strategic media and public affairs.
Throughout my career, I have held leadership roles across various sectors, including serving as Deputy Director at the Nigeria Football League (Protocol Department), Editor, Online, at The Sun Newspaper and Managing Editor at NAIJ.com (now legit.ng). My journalistic journey has spanned roles such as Senior Reporter at Premium Times and Senior Editor at Nigerian Pilot Newspaper, where I have consistently championed in-depth reporting and investigative journalism.
Recognized globally for my advocacy, I was honored by FIFA at the 2018 Women’s Football Convention and received the Girl-Child Education Champion Award from former Malawi President Joyce Banda. I was also a finalist in the 2016 edition of the CNN African Journalist Award for a report on the sexual abuse of female athletes.
In 2017, I founded FAME Foundation, driven by a vision to empower women and girls in Nigeria. Our work has directly impacted over 30,000 people and touched the lives of an additional 55,000 through collaborations with local and international partners.
My journey has also included high-profile contributions, such as representing the Federal Government on the UNODC Line Up Live Up Programme and playing a key role in the Asaba 2022 National Sports Festival. My participation in the Media and Publicity Sub-Committee for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s transition was a privilege and a testament to my commitment to public service.
As a global speaker and co-author of Restoring Trust in Sport: Corruption Cases and Solutions, I’ve shared my insights on human rights and gender equality at international forums.
I’m always eager to connect with those who share a passion for creating positive.
As a public speaker, I have been privileged to speak in South Africa, Denmark, and the Netherlands, amongst other local events.
As a mentor, I have been able to mentor young women and help them identify their full potential while harnessing the accessibility to them to ensure they grow into matured women
